It is a cosmetic surgery that removes fat from deposits beneath the skin from different areas of the human body such as abdomen, thighs, buttocks, neck, and backs of the arms. The technique may be done with the use of general anesthesia, or with heavy IV sedation, or totally by local anesthesia.
At Clínica Dermoquirúrgica we perform the tumescent liposuction, a technique that uses local anesthesia injected into the fat which causes the targeted areas to become swollen and firm. Local anesthesia is widely regarded as the safest form of anesthesia.
The Tumescent technique uses microcannulas with a diameter less than 3 millimeters, which allows fat to be removed in a more uniform fashion and yields smoothers cosmetic results.
